  1. Happy New Year to you all, 2013 was a fanstastic year for us, and we are very much looking forward to a fabulous 2014
    as Mr and Mrs Formosa

Catrin and Paul's Happy Wedding Day. Image by Peter Meredith Photography

On December 21st 2012, on the day the world was "supposed" to end and after nearly 7 years together, Paul made me the happiest person in the world when he finally proposed!

Not wanting to wait another full year to tie the knot, we decided that 16th November 2013 would be the date for our special day...and a special day it was too.

For the past few years, we have wanted to move to where I feel is home, close to family and friends, in Carmarthen. So with that in mind, we decided that our Wedding should take place where our hearts belonged and where one day we can call home. We found the most beautiful Church, St Peter's Church in Carmarthen. We cannot thank Reverend Leigh Richardson enough for accommodating our dream and allowing us to be married there.

We both have huge families, lots of special friends, and we wanted to invite everyone to the whole thing. However, finding a venue for a large amount of people is not easy, but one of my best friends, Nia, recommended Fishguard Bay Hotel. Despite being quite a drive from the Church, it was a no-brainer. From the word go, the Wedding Co-ordinator for the venue, Richard, was fanstastic, and we knew we were in safe hands. From beginning to end, Richard, Gerard and the staff at this hotel were amazing, and we cannot recommend this venue enough.

So Church and Venue booked, it was time to go shopping! I found my dream dress online, an Alfred Angelo Disney dress - the Snow White one - and found that Cardiff Bridal Centre stocked it. I tried on my dream Disney dress, and it was clear straight away that it just wasn't right for me, but luckily the last dress to try on was the one to make my heart leap. It sparkled, it made my waist look tiny, and both my Mother and Sister agreed that this dress was the one - a Sophia Tolli dress called Estrella. I also fell in love with the sparkly veil and tiara that went so perfectly with it - I looked like a bride, I felt like a Princess Bride, and I just couldn't wait to marry my Prince!

I found the perfect bridesmaid dresses for my three sisters, a gorgeous claret colour which complemented our Berry colour scheme. Although I had many friends and nieces-to-be that would have absolutely qualified for being my bridesmaids,  I had always said that my sisters, Lowri, Meleri and Rhianedd would be my bridesmaids, and it just made things easier. However, I couldn't resist having our God-daughter, Ellie Ffion, as our flower girl, she is such a massive part of our lives and we love her dearly.

Paul chose his brother, Andrew, to be his Best Man, and his nephew, Lucas, and brother-in-law, Gareth, to be his Ushers - and what a fine-looking bunch they made. Paul and Andrew wore Tail-coat suits, Paul chose an Ivory waistcoat, and Best Man, Ushers and Fathers wore gorgeous Ivory and Berry waistcoats and cravats. Thank you to Evans and Wilkins, Carmarthen, for providing such a fantastic service, we both absolutely loved the Peter Posh range.

The lovely Sarah from Petit Pois Unique was in charge of flowers and she made the most beautiful bouquet for me, I think it's the best bridal bouquet I have ever seen. Sarah also did the button-holes for the Wedding party,  for a young girl starting out in this business, I cannot speak highly enough for her skills, she is amazing. To add a little sentiment to the bouquet, I attached heart-shaped lockets which included pictures of our family members who are now angels. It was my little way of including them in our Wedding, I would quite literally be walking down the aisle with them, this was very special to me.

My Mother created the bridesmaids bouquets and I was so proud, she has always been creative and artistic, but she had really out-done herself with her bouquests, they were stunning. She also did a beautiful job of the flower-arranging in the Church, and I will never forget the amount of time and work she put into helping us have our dream day.

With us living so far away from , it made sense for me to stay at my sister's house the night before the Wedding, Lowri lives in a gorgeous farmhouse in rural Carmarthenshire with her partner, Aled, it is the ultimate Wedding preparation location! I was so chuffed when we were announced Wedding of the Week on the Welsh TV channel S4C on the weather forecast, thank you to Lowri for putting our Wedding forward, it was truly a gift I will treasure forever. So us four sisters and one of my best friend's from childhood, Caroline, had a really chilled out night, we had some wine, they gave me lovely gifts, Caroline even lent me her cherished guardian angel pin as my something borrowed.

The next morning, we were up at 7am, and Victoria joined the party to do our hair, I was going for a Mark Spain painting look, a curly up-do, and it was stunning. My sisters had their hair down and curly with a little glimpse of sparkle, and they looked absolutely beautiful. Lowri was in charge of make-up, she chose Mac make-up as it is known for looking flawless, I could not have asked for a better person to do my face, it was amazing.

We had booked Peter Meredith Photography to cover our Wedding, and so Clare arrived to take some preparation shots. Clare went above and beyond the call of duty, she even tied up my dress at the back! My Uncle Gerallt  then arrived in a stunning posh silver Volvo to take me and my Father to the Church. An amazing gift from Uncle Gerallt and his family, it meant a lot.

I arrived at the Church and as soon as I walked through the door, I immediately felt over-whelmed, it was packed to the brim with familiar faces, but then I saw Paul, and I couldn't believe that the day had finally arrived. I apparently sprinted down the aisle, but fair play, I had waited a long time for this! The Ceremony went by like a dream, Reverend Leigh Richardson  was fantastic, and we had a great response from our guests saying what a brilliant Ceremony it was. My 12 year old cousin, Guto, seemed very confident filming the event, and we can't wait to see the finished result he is busy editing for us. Paul's nephew, Lucas, and niece, Alexis, did the readings for us, and they both read wonderfully. And before we knew it, it's was over, and we were finally Husband and Wife and it was time to sign.

I asked one of my bestest friends to sing for us at the Ceremony, she has the most amazing voice, even before I met Paul, I knew that Nia would be singing at my Wedding. To add to the magic, we were thrilled when our wonderful friend, Mark, offered to play the flute for us too, he is a fantastic flutist. As we sat in the back room of the Church signing the register, we were all absolutely blown away by this perfect duo who had never met before let alone performed together...
we may have created something special here, watch this space! ;-)

What felt like a hundred photos later, we were in the posh car heading to Fishguard and Uncle Gerallt had a bottle of champagne and a couple of flutes ready for us for our special trip - a really lovely touch, and probably one of the most enjoyable and most needed drinks we have ever had!

In all fairness, our photographers Peter and Clare from Peter Meredith Photography had a massive job, and they did it so well. You certainly get a lot for your money with this company, with two photographers taking non-stop pictures for as long as they can possibly keep you, they are well worth every penny. We are not the most photogenic couple either so they did have their work cut out for them, and we were relieved that they were able to get a few good shots of us!

Another few hundred or so pictures later and we entered a huge room full of smiling faces, it was an amazing feeling. The room was beautiful, Chair Covers Wales sorted the chair covers with the Berry chair sashes and the Top Table swag, and we were so glad that we had included chair covers in our budget, the room looked stunning. The centrepieces were inspired by the magical rose in Beauty and the Beast. And the tables were named after Forest Friends, you can tell from the clothes on Daffodili how much we love our Woodland Creatures, and my sister, Meleri, worked so hard on getting the animal pictures done in time for our 19 tables! The food was delicious, probably the best food I have ever had at a Wedding, and so many guests told us the same thing. The speeches were brilliant too, they were all funny, confident and heart-felt, my Father, Paul and Andrew did amazingly well.

One of my favourite things about the day was hearing that the little girls wanted to see the Princess - cute!!

Our DJ was my good friend, Gareth Brown aka Brownski Beat who was the resident DJ when I was in University. He did not disappoint, the dance-floor was filled all night. Our first dance was the Glee version of Aerosmith's Dream On. And with Paul's Father's family from Corfu, the night couldn't have gone by without some Greek Dancing which everyone enjoyed, thank you to my sister-in-law, Ann-Marie, for sorting out the Greek music for us, it meant so much to us both. I even surprised Paul (and myself!!) with a song, Shania Twain's From This Moment On, I felt it was an appropriate song for me to sing.

We didn't go to bed until 5am - the day and night had flown by, but it was truly an amazing day.

The next day we went to stay in the Giltar Hotel in Tenby, we had a sea-view room which was beautiful. The staff were lovely, they really know how to make you feel special. We had a wonderful time looking out at the sea reading our Wedding cards and opening gifts, thank you so much to everyone who contributed to this joy.

I would also like to thank the following facebook pages for all their help too - if you are planning your Wedding, be sure to give them a like -  Hike Those Likes MarketplaceCwtch The Bride and Wedding Find It Buy It..

We are so full of gratitude that we cannot contain it, and we are very lucky that with this Daffodili blog we have a platform online to show appreciation and to promote the services that have served us so well. A massive thank you to everyone who helped make our big day the biggest of days, thank you for travelling to be a part of it, thank you for dancing and for the lovely well wishes. And thank you so much to our parents who certainly helped make it the special day we will remember forever.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts - Catrin and Paul Formosa

  2. Blwyddyn Newydd Dda i chi gyd, mae 2013 wedi bod yn flwyddyn anhygoel i ni, ac edrychwn ymlaen yn fawr iawn i 2014 a'r hud a ddaw fel Mr a Mrs Formosa!

Diwrnod hapus Catrin a Paul. Llun gan Peter Meredith Photography

Ar yr 21ain o Ragfyr 2012, ar y dydd yr oedd y byd 'fod' i ddod i ben ac arol 7 mlynedd gyda'n gilydd, mi wnaeth Paul ofyn i mi ei briodi ac r'on i wrth fy modd.

Doeddwn ni ddim am aros blwyddyn cyfan arall heb briodi, felly penderfynom mai'r 16eg o Dachwedd 2013 y byddai'r dyddiad ar gyfer ein diwrnod arbennig....a diwrnod arbennig iawn yr oedd hefyd.

Y gwesteion i gyd tu allan i Eglwys San Pedr, Caerfyrddin. Llun gan Peter Meredith Photography

Am y blynyddoedd diwethaf, rydym wedi bod eisiau symud i Gaerfyrddin, lle sy'n teimlo fel adre, yn agos i deulu a ffrindiau. Felly wrth gadw hyn yn ein meddyliau, penderfynom y dylai ein Priodas gymryd lle yn y lleoliad agosaf i'n calonnau, a'r lle y byddwn ni rhywddydd yn y dyfodol agos yn ei alw'n adre. Daethom ar draws yr Eglwys mwya prydferth, Eglwys San Pedr, Caerfyrddin. Ni allwn ddiolch y Parchedig Leigh Richardson ddigon am droi ein breuddwyd yn realiti wrth ganiatau i ni briodi yno.

Eglwys San Pedr, Caerfyrddin. Llun gan Peter Meredith Photography

Mae gan y ddau ohonom deuluoedd enfawr, llawer o ffrindiau arbennig, ac roeddwn ni am wahodd pawb i bopeth. Serch hynny, mae dod o hyd i leoliad sy'n ddigon o faint i ddal nifer fawr o bobol yn anodd iawn, ond mi wnaeth un o fy ffrindiau gorau, Nia, awgrymu Fishguard Bay Hotel. Er iddo fod yn dipyn o daith o'r Eglwys, doedd dim amheuaeth. O'r dechrau oll, roedd Richard, y Cydlynydd Priodas i'r gwesty, yn ffantastig, ac roeddwn ni'n gwybod ein bod ni mewn dwylo da. O'r dechrau i'r diwedd, roedd Richard, Gerard a staff y gwesty yn anhygoel, ac ni allwn eu hargymell ddigon.

Felly gyda'r Eglwys a'r Lleoliad am y Dderbynfa wedi eu harchebu, roedd hi'n amser i siopa! Des i ar draws ffroc fy mreuddwydion arlein, ffroc Disney Alfred Angelo - yr un Eira Wen - a darganfyddais bod Cardiff Bridal Centre, Caerdydd yn ei stocio. Mi wnes i drio'r ffroc Disney ymlaen, ond yn anffodus roedd hi'n amlwg yn syth nad oedd y ffroc yn iawn i mi, ond drwy lwc, gwnaeth y ffroc ola i mi drio ymlaen yn Cardiff Bridal Centre gydio yn fy nghalon. Roedd yn du hwnt o ddisglair, yn gwneud i' nghanol edrych yn fach iawn, ac roedd fy Mam a'n Chwaer yn cytuno mai hon oedd y ffroc i mi - ffroc gan Sophia Tolli o'r enw Estrella. Roeddwn hefyd wedi syrthio mewn cariad gya'r llen disglair a'r tiara aeth mor berffith gyda'r ffroc - roeddwn i'n edrych fel priodferch, roeddwn i'n teimlo fel Tywysoges o Briodferch, a doeddwn i'm yn gallu aros i briodi fy Nhywysog!

Catrin yn gwisgo ffroc gan Sophia Tolli. Cardiff Bridal Centre. Llun gan Peter Meredith Photography

Des i ar draws ffroce prydferth i'r morwynion, lliw claret gorjys aeth yn berffaith gyda'n dewis o liw Eirin. Er bod gen i gymaint o ffrindiau a darpar nithoedd a fyddai wedi gwneud morwynion anhygoel, dwi erioed wedi dweud mai fy chwiorydd, Lowri, Meleri a Rhianedd fyddai fy morwynion pan briodai, ac roedd hynny'n gwneud pethe'n haws. R'on i hefyd methu peidio cael ein
Merch Bedydd, Ellie Ffion, fel ein merch blodau, mae'n rhan mor fawr o'n bywydau ac mae hi wir yn gariad bach.

Dewisodd Paul ei frawd, Andrew, i sefyll wrth ei ochr fel y Dyn Gorau, a'i nai, Lucas, a'i frawd-yng-ngyfraith, Gareth, fel ei Tywyswyr - a jiw jiw o'n nhw'n edrych yn smart. Dewisodd Paul wasgod ifori, a gwisgodd Andrew, y Tywyswyr a'r Tadau wasgod a chrafatiaid ifori ac eirin. Diolch i Evans a Wilkins, Caerfyrddin, am roi gwasanaeth heb ei ail, roedd y ddau ohonom wedi dwli ar y gyfres Peter Posh.

Gwnaeth yr hyfryd Sarah o Petit Pois Unique ofalu am y blodau ac mi wnaeth y tusw mwya prydferth i mi, dwi'n meddwl mai dyma'r tusw priodasol orau dwi erioed wedi gweld. Sarah wnaeth y tyllau-botwm i'r parti Priodasol hefyd, am ferch ifanc yn dechrau ei busnes, ni allaf canmol ei sgiliau ddigon, mae'n anhygoel. I ychwanegu ychydig sentiment i'r tusw, ategais locedi mewn siap calon oedd yn cynnwys lluniau o'r teulu sydd bellach yn angylion. Dyma oedd fy ffordd bach fy hun o'u cynnwys yn y Briodas, y byddwn i yn cerdded i lawr yr ystlys gyda nhw yn agos i' nghalon, roedd hyn yn arbennig iawn i mi.

Gwnaeth Mam greu tusw y morwynion ac r'on i mor browd ohoni, mae wastad di bod yn greadigol ac yn artistig, ond mi wnaeth jobyn anhygoel o'r blodau, r'on nhw'n du hwnt o brydfeth. Mam wnaeth drefnu'r blodau'n pert ar gyfer yr Eglwys hefyd, ni wnai fyth anghofio'r maint o waith ac amser wnaeth Mam roi er mwyn ein helpu i gael ein diwrnod arbennig.

Tusw'r morwynion gan Mam. Llun gan Peter Meredith

Gyda ni'n byw mor bell i ffwrdd, roedd e'n gwneud synnwyr i mi aros yn nhy fy chwaer, Lowri, y noson cyn y Briodas, mae'n byw mewn ty fferm gorjys yng nghefn gwlad Sir Gaerfyrddin gyda'i phartner, Aled, yn wir y lle gore i baratoi am briodas! R'on i mor mor hapus pan ddaeth ein enwau lan ar sgrin y teledu fel Priodas yr Wythnos yn ystod y tywydd ar S4C, diolch i Lowri am roi ein Priodas ymlaen am hyn, rhodd y gwnaf drysori am fyth bythoedd. Felly gwaneth y bedair ohonan ni chwiorydd a fy ffrind gorau ers plentyndod, Caroline, gael noson tawel, ychydig o win, a ges i rhoddion lyfli ganddynt. Gwnaeth Caroline hyd yn oed rhoi ei
phin Angel i mi fel fy 'rhywbeth wedi'i menthyg'.

Y bore wedyn, r'on ni gyd i fyny am 7yb, a daeth Victoria i ymuno yn yr hwyl i wneud ein gwalltiau. R'on i am steil tebyg i'r merched ym mheintiadau Mark Spain, gwallt cwrliog i fyny, roedd e mor bert. Steil cwrliog i lawr gafodd fy morwynion gyda nodyn bach o sbarcl, r'on nhw wir yn brydferth. Lowri wnaeth ofalu am y colur, dewisodd golur Mac gan ei fod yn nabyddus am fod yn ddi-nam, ni allaf wedi gofyn am unrhywun gwell i wneud fy ngwyneb, roedd hi'n anhygoel.

Gwnaethom archebu Peter Meredith Photography i gofnodi ein Priodas, ac felly gwnaeth Clare gyrraedd i gymryd siotiau o'r paratoi. Aeth Clare ymhellach na'i dyletswydd fel ffotograffydd, gwnaeth hyd yn oed clymu cefn fy ffroc! Gwnaeth Wncwl Gerallt gyrraedd wedyn mewn Volvo lliw arian posh anhygoel i gymryd fi a' Nhad i'r Eglwys. Rhodd arbennig gan Wncwl Gerallt a'i deulu, roedd yn meddwl lot i mi.

Cyrhaeddais yr Eglwys a chyn gynted i mi gerdded trwy'r drws, r'on i 'di llwyr gorlethu, roedd y lle yn llawn dop o wynebau cyfarwydd, ond wedyn mi welais Paul, a d'on i methu credu bod y dydd wedi cyrraedd o'r diwedd. Mae'n debyg i mi bron rhedeg i lawr yr ystlys, ond chware teg, r'on i wedi aros amser maith am hyn! Aeth y Seremoni heibio fel breuddwyd, roedd y Parchedig Leigh Richardson yn ffantastig, cawsom ymateb anhygoel gan ein gwesteion yn dweud pa mor ardderchog oedd y Seremoni. Roedd Guto, fy nghefnder 12 mlwydd oed, yn edrych yn hyderus iawn yn ffilmio'r achlysur, ac ni allwn aros i weld siwt mae e wedi golygu'r holl ffilmio i ni. Nai a nith Paul, Lucas ac Alexis wnaeth y darlleniadau i ni, a gwnaeth y ddau ohonynt ddarllen yn fendigedig. A cyn i ni droi rownd, roedd e wedi gorffen, ac roeddwn ni o'r diwedd yn Wr a Gwraig ac roedd hi'n amser i arwyddo.

Eglwys San Pedr, Caerfyrddin. Llun gan Caroline Griffiths

Gwnes ofyn i un o fy ffrindiau gorau i ganu yn y Seremoni, mae ganddi lais anhygoel, hyd yn oed cyn i mi gwrdd a Paul, r'on i'n gwybod mai Nia fyddai'n canu yn fy mhriodas. I ychwanegu i'r hud, roeddwn ni wrth ein boddau pan gynigiodd ein ffrind annwyl, Mark, i chwarae'r ffliwt i ni hefyd, mae e'n ffantastig. Wrth i ni eistedd yn y stafell gefn yn arwyddo'r gofrestr, r'on ni gyd 'di syfrdannu gan y ddeuawd perffaith oedd heb hyd yn oed wedi cwrdd a'i gilydd o'r blaen heb son am perfformio 'da'i gilydd... dwi'n meddwl falle ein bod wedi creu rhywbeth arbennig drwy cyfuno'r ddau yma!

Nia a Mark. Llun gan Peter Meredith Photography

Beth oedd yn teimlo fel cant o luniau yn hwyrach, roeddwn ni yn y car posh yn anelu at Abergwaun, ac roedd gan Wncwl Gerallt fotel o Champagne a gwydrau yn barod i ni ar gyfer ein taith arbennig - roedd hyn yn hynod o lyfli, dwi'n sicr y diod i ni fwynhau ac ei angen fwya erioed!

Mewn tegwch, roedd gan ein ffotograffwyr, Peter a Clare o Peter Meredith Photography swydd a hanner, ond mi wnaethant mor dda. Mae'n wir i chi gael llawer am eich arian gyda'r cwmni yma, gyda dau ffotograffydd yn cymryd lluniau yn ddi-dor am cyn-gymaint o amser ag oedd yn bosib, gwerth pob ceiniog. Dy'n ni ddim yn ffotograffi'n dda iawn, felly roedd hi'n ryddhad i weld eu bod wedi cael rhai siotiau da ohonom!

Teulu agos Paul. Llun gan Peter Meredith Photography  Teulu agos Catrin. Llun gan Peter Meredith Photography

Cwpwl o gannoedd o luniau yn hwyrach ac aethom fewn i ystafell enfawr yn llawn o wynebau hapus, roedd yn deimlad anhygoel. Roedd yr ystafell mor bert, gwnaeth Chair Covers Wales drefnu'r gorchudd cadeiriau gyda sashes pert lliw eirin a swag ar gyfer y brif ford, roeddwn ni mor falch y gwanethom gynnwys gorchudd cadeiriau yn ein cyllideb, roedd yr ystafell yn edrych yn du hwnt o brydferth. Ysbrydoliaeth am yr addurniadau ford oedd y rhosyn hudol yn Beauty and the Beast. Gwnaethom enwi'r 19 ford arol anifieliaid y goedwig, gallwch weld o'n dillad ar Daffodili faint i ni'n hoffi ein creaduriaid y goedwig, a gwnaeth fy chwaer, Meleri, weithio mor galed i gael lluniau'r anifeiliad i gyd mewn amser. Roedd y bwyd yn fendigedig, y bwyd gorau dwi erioed wedi cael mewn Priodas, a gwnaeth llawer o'n westeion ddweud yr un peth. Roedd yr areithiau yn ardderchog hefyd, i gyd yn ddoniol, hyderus ac o'r galon, gwnaeth fy Nhad, Paul ac Andrew yn anhygoel o dda.

Un o fy hoff bethau am y dydd oedd clywed bod y merched bach ishe gweld y Dywysoges - ciwt!!

Ein DJ oedd ffrind dda i mi, Gareth Brown aka Brownski Beat, efe oedd y DJ preswyl pan oeddwn i yn y Brifysgol. Ni wnaeth siomi, roedd y llawr yn llawn dawnswyr drwy'r nos. Ein dawns cyntaf oedd fersiwn Glee o gan Aerosmith sef Dream On. A gan bod teulu Tad Paul o Corfu, roedd yn rhaid i ni gael ychydig o ddawnsio Groegaidd yn doedd, gwaneth pawb fwynhau hynny. Mi wnes i hefyd sypreisio Paul (a minnau!!) gyda chan, From This Moment On gan Shania Twain, teimlais iddo fod yn gan addas i mi ganu.

Ni aethom i'r gwely tan 5yb - gwnaeth y dydd a'r nos hedfan heibio, ond mi oedd wir yn ddiwrnod anhygoel.

Y diwrnod wedyn aethom i aros yng Ngwesty'r Giltar yn Ninbych y Pysgod, roedd gennym ystafell gyda golygfa o'r mor, golygfa tu hwnt o brydferth. Roedd y staff yn lyfli, r'on nhw'n gwybod siwt i wneud i ni deimlo'n arbennig. Cawsom amser mor neis yn edrych allan ar y mor yn darllen ein cardiau Priodas ac yn agor rhoddion, diolch yn fawr iawn i bawb wnaeth gyfrannu at y llawenydd yma.

Pob diolch i'r tudalennau ar Facebook wnaeth helpu hefyd - os ydych chi'n trefnu priodas, byddwch yn siwr o hoffi'r tudalennau canlynol - Hike Those Likes Marketplace, Cwtch The Bride a Wedding Find It Buy It.

Rydym yn llawn gwerthfawrogiad ac ni allwn gynnwys ein hun, a teimlwn mor lwcus i ni gael y blog Daffodili  yma, yn lwyfan arlein i ddangos ein gwerthfawrogiad ac i hyrwyddo'r gwasanethau hynny wnaeth ddarparu ar ein cyfer mor dda. Diolch enfawr i bawb wnaeth helpu i wneud ein diwrnod mawr y diwrnod mwyaf, diolch am deithio i fod yn ran ohono, diolch am ddawnsio ac am y cyfarchion di-ri. A diolch yn fawr iawn i'n rhieni a wnaeth yn bendant ein helpu i'w wneud y diwrnod arbennig
y byddwn ni'n cofio am fyth bythoedd.

Diolch o waelod calon - Catrin a Paul Formosa
